The Original And The Best: Valentino Rossi

We all love Overhang, the naturally revitalising premium beverage created by my Great Grandfather Antonio. But, did you know, Italy has given us some of the greatest food, artists, cars, sports people, singers and inventors that the world has ever seen. The list goes on and on!

We thought we would share some of our favourites with you over the coming months. We will start with one of the greatest Italian sportsmen that ever lived… Valentino Rossi Aka, ‘THE DOCTOR’.

Did you know?

  • Rossi was born in 1979
  • First raced in 1989 on a mini moto
  • Uses the number 46 – the same number his famous Dad used
  • Uses the image of the sun and moon on his helmet to reflect his personality!
  • Had his first Grand Prix win in the Czech GP of 1996
  • Is an accomplished rally driver
  • Loves dogs, especially English bull dogs
  • His favourite football team is Inter Millan
  • Is one of the highest paid sportsmen in the world; last year alone he earned $35 million

And just to give you an idea of how great the man is,
here are some of his race achievements:

  • 112 total wins (all classes)
  • 55 second positions
  • 44 thirds
  • 211 podiums
  • 61 pole positions

And if your still not convinced, go watch probably the greatest ever moto GP race, Valentino Rossi v Casey Stoner at Laguna Seca in 2008.

We would love to know if you agree with us!

Ciao for now,

The Overhang team.
